Lichfield BRAT Triathlon

Sunday 29th April 2017

After another successful year, we are pleased to return to Lichfield for our early season sprint race & late summer sprint race. They will be held at the Friary Grange Leisure Centre in Lichfield, and as an event it is ideal for beginners as well as the more experienced triathlete looking for an early season race where they can set a fast time.

Once again the BRAT club offers a warm welcome with lots of excellent marshals who are in place through-out the course to ensure that all competitors feel comfortable with taking part in a triathlon and, as we were all beginners once, we will be on hand to help with any questions you have.

The Sprint

The Swim is a 400M swim in a 25M indoor pool where you will need to complete 16 lengths. There will be marshals counting lengths completed but it will be the competitors responsibility to count their own 16 lengths.

Start times will be based on your estimated swim time, with the first competitors starting at 8:00am. There are 6 lanes of swimmers starting at 5 or 4 minute intervals.

The Bike course takes you out and back on flat, quiet roads through scenic Staffordshire villages with thatch cottages and village squares, and is perfect for both novices and experienced athletes alike, and returns within sight of the famous 3 spires of Lichfield Cathedral

The Run is within the closed grounds of Friary Grange, again within sight of the 3 Spires of the Cathedral and involves laps, so is an ideal course for your family and friends to spectate and cheer you on. It is flat and mainly on grass, so again perfect for the novice or the experienced athlete looking for a personal best.Type your paragraph here.
